I have always loved horses, ever since I was given my first My Little Pony when I was about 5, her name was Apple Jack.
I started riding when I was 9 and never looked back – I was hooked. I spent many years after that looking after other people’s horses, doing the mucking out, grooming, cleaning tack – sometimes being rewarded with a ride ! I’d do anything just to be around them.
Over the years I have gained lots of experience with many different types of horses and ponies; every one of them having had their own different personality! I am lucky enough to have ridden in some far flung places too, like Arizona, Greece, Spain and France. Horses are very intelligent, peaceful and forgiving – once you have gained their trust they will love you forever, something that is very special indeed.
I have always worked with children and animals. I left school and went on to Uni to study Fine Art then took a PGCE and trained to be a teacher. Children are fun, inspirational and open minded. When you see children and ponies together, their relationship blossoms and the confidence that is gained is invaluable. I have two children who are both very lucky to be growing up around the horses and ponies and they adore them.
I am also a trained First Aider and have been on numerous training sessions for this. I am also DBS checked by the Disclosure and Barring Services.
